Hello! My name is Jody
Yanez and my husband is
Juan Yanez . We live just
outside the city limits of
Ansley Nebraska. We
havea 17 year old son
and hisname is Daniel.
My father George
Sanders also lives with
us on our small farm.
It has been a dream of
ours to have a farm and
to have a fiber mill for
processing wool. So 3 years ago we took the plunge. When we bought
this place it was just a house with some garages and land. We have
been working very hard to turn it into a working farm. Our first fall we
started with 8 alpacas, 27 goats, 5 ewes. Our ewes and does were due to
lamb and kid in between January and March. We then sold all the goats
and purchased our 11 head of cattle and more sheep.This last summer we
had over 60 head of sheep but they were all cross bred and I really wanted
to have a pure bred flock of sheep to cater to the fiber artists out there.
So in the fall we sold all the cross bred sheep and kept only the pure bred
corriedale sheep. We now have 6 head of Corriedale sheep and 6 head
of cattle and are working on building up the flock and cattle heard again
with breeds we really want and not a mixture.
I have been working with fiber and wool for about 30 plus years and have
been spinning for about 10 years. My parents had a wool business when
I was a child and I helped clean the wool so my mother would sell it to
weaving and spinning shops in California. It has been a dream of mine to
go back into the wool business again and have a fiber mill. So Juan told me
to go for it so here we are! We would be happy to process your wool,
alpaca,llama,angora and turn it into batts for you. There is no minimum on
