Hi Everyone! I thought I might give you an update on my loom mystery! Well I did finally found out what loom company made my loom and is Clement they are no longer making looms. And there are no spare parts to be found for my loom if I ever need to relpace any. But I don't think that is going to be a problem for me because it is in really sound shape. How I found out all this information is I was given an email address for a man known as the loom doctor. His name is Tom Beaudet and repairs looms and has a lot of information on looms. Well I did email him about my loom and he told me it was a Clement loom and it was the first one he had ever seen that was counterbalance. that most of the looms he had seen and worked on were jack he was really surprised to see my loom he could not tell me the age of the loom but that does not matter any more at least I finally know what I have as far as make. I was so excited when he was able to tell me what maker of loom I have! also I have been buying a little at a time the weaving tool I need to start to learn and I think I am finally able to start to warp my loom for the first time. I am so excited about that I can't wait! I am also mostly caught up on the fiber mill work i just have one customer order I am working on and I am half way done with that. them I can start to wash and clean the 11 fleeces I got this spring! Yes! I know 11 what in the world are you going to do with 11 fleeces well you see I have this idea of using it in my weaving as weft thread for some rugs i want to make I know it sounds crazy but I think ti would make a nice heavy rug when you was it. It would felt of course and make it really thick and I hope sturdy rug it is an idea I have I don;t know if it will work or not but I will find out when I get my loom warped I will take picture's of it and the weaving project I have in mind too! |
